I just don't want to get into it if we are reading from the same material but with different targets or points of view.. Here is a piece of all that I know bout it: from our WEBSITE. Thomas Hunt "Patriot--signed "Oath of Allegiance" in N.C. (D.A.R. # 527989). D.A.R. members: Cathy Jean Cannon (#67114) and Patricia Ann Cannon (#671145). See DAR Patriot Indx. P. 110, Vol.II. Also Clara's file. Deed of Thos. Hunt dtd 8 Feb 1789, children & some g.children named. Another son and daughter are unidentified except that the daughter married a Massey. This is the line of Jerry Arthur Hunt, 7105 Sansivera Cove, Austin, Tx. 78750, Ph.(512) 345-2402. Thomas and his son Henry had children who settled in Wilson Co., Tn. also, according to Jerry A. Hunt. Jerry also states: "Militia lists of Granville Co. N.C. 8 Oct 1754, show THOMAS HUNT, Little Creek, in Capt Benjamin Simms Co., under command of Col. Wm. Eaton. Thomas Hunt sold land to each of his male children on or near their 21st birthday (Henry Hunt, 22 Oct. 1765, Warren Co. N.C. Deed Book 1, pg. 210; Hardy Hunt, 21 Feb 1768, Warren Co. N.C. Deed Book 2, pg 257; John Hunt, 17 July 1779, Franklin Co., N.C. Deed Book 1, pg. 35.). Thomas bought land sold to Henry & Hardy from Wm. Drake of Edgecombe Co., N.C. 30 July 1764, Warren Co. N.C. Deed Book A, pg. 180. Thomas bought land sold to John from Bennett Hillsman of Bute Co. Feb 1778, Warren co. N.C. Deed Book 6, pg. 36. Thomas Hunt's LWT 27 Sept 1790, recorded March Court 1791, Franklin Co. N.C. Will Book A, pg. 76A. Included was grandchild Josiah Massey, son of a deceased daughter who (presumedly) married Drury Massey (since Franklin Co. Will Book A, pg. 121 shows Hardy Hunt as guardian for Josiah Massey's part of his grandfather's estate [$28 1/12]), and was for son of Drury Massey. See notes for Thomas' daughter Sarah Hunt, for details on other grandsons. See Andrea II, page 12 & 38. See Andrea II, page 13. Bottom of page: "Thomas Hunt of Bute Co., N.C. and his wife, Susannah Hunt---her dower.
