From: "Joan Duncan" <lduncan1@elp.rr.com> Date: Tue, 18 May 1999 21:08:36 -0600 Subject: Antioch Cemeter Preble Co., Ohio This cemetery is in Gaspar Township, about 4 miles south of Eaton. The cemetery would be overlooked because it is one lot off the highway. The corner lot was the site of the first Methodist Church to be built in the county. Ebe Campbell was one of the church members to give the ground and help build the church. There is no sign of it left as it was abandoned when the new Methodist Church was built in Eaton. Next to the church one lot uphill was the cemetery. To get to the entrance it is necessary to trespass on the driveway of the next door farmers property. It is a pretty place, surrounded by huge trees and was grassy when we visited Our second trip though was so disappointing as the tractor grass cutter had knocked down a number of the old headstones. Ebe and Lydia, my 3rd great grandparents, had a tall tombstone which was not damaged, but the huge tree roots did threaten their stone. Now as to my comment about little David Hunt Campbell. He was the child of Mary Ann Hunt and her sisters widower James Bayard Campbell, who Md. Mary Ann as his 2nd wife. Little David was not the son of Mary Blalock Hunt, but her grandson. He was b.June 1852 and died 17 days later. Mary Ann's sister Elizabeth Hunt Campbell is buried next to him. Off State Hgwy 127 I believe.
