    1. [HUNT-L] Thomas HUNT, b.Abt.1720--d.1791 Franklin Co. NC
    2. Thomas HUNT is believed to have arrived in old Granville Co. NC as early as 1747, probably from VA (IOW, Surry, Prince George?). He is shown on Militia List of that county in 1754. He is likely closely related to other HUNT families in that area, including a Henry, William, and another Thomas HUNT, but, thus far, no proven link has been established. He was married to Elizabeth (?), and presumably their union had issue of Henry, Hardy, (Dau.?, m.Drury MASSEY), John, and Sarah. The use of the given name "Hardy" suggests that Elizabeth's surname may have been "HARDY". Some families migrated from Franklin Co. NC to Sumner and Wilson Co. TN, later to Gibson Co. TN. The history of the son "John" is not defined. The daughter Sarah evidently had two or three children by a Daniel HARRIS, without marriage vows. The query for information on this HUNT line has been on-line often. Perhaps some newcomers onto the net might have information that will help solve this Thomas HUNTs origin, his connections to other HUNT families, and the dispersion of his children. Thanks for reading this. Jerry A. HUNT (5710 Fairlane Drive, Austin TX, 78757-4413)
