Both sons were born in Mahaska county IA. The family > then seems to disappear. > Thank you. > > Teri I have a similar problem, however, mine seems to be in the other direction. My Grandfather, SMITH REED HUNT (married BLANCHE SEFELT, daughter of JACK SEFELT and EFFIE -- Sefelt Monument Co. ), was born in 1894, probably in Waterloo, Iowa. His brother, CHARLES FREDERICK HUNT, was born in Waterloo in 1909. Fred is still alive, however, his memory is failing him. His stepmothers name was LOUISE WINONA SAVAGE, from Lincoln, Nebraska, daughter of CHARLES SAVAGE and NORA WINONA ???, Probably born in July, 1870. Great Grandfather, by Fred's recollection, is CLARENCE ALFONSE HUNT. His mother's name, he does not remember. CLARENCE was probably born in 1852, and may have been born in Ithaca, New York. His father may have been SMITH REED HUNT Fred's recollection is very [poor, and he has, on occasion, stated that he was named after his father (CLARENCE?) or his grandfather (SMITH?). So, my dilemma is clear, I can't go back any further. I'm not even sure if the course I am taking is valid. My father, JACK REED HUNT, however, was born in 1918 in Red Oak, Iowa. I have no idea whether there is a connection to your Hunts. But, it is a dead end, in the other direction. Gary Hunt, Outpost of Freedom http:www.illusions.com/opf
