Hello! I am new to this list, and just discovered that my ancestor was Thomas Hunt, b. England 1580. He was a ship's captain who came to America around 1600, apparently a trading vessel (fur trade?). He had land in what is now Long Island, NY. His wife was Cecily Paisley. From what I can tell, he allegedly was the man who masterminded the kidnapping of "Squanto" in the legend. My question is: does anyone know of any books on this Hunt line? And is anyone else connected to this line? I also have HUNTs on my husband's side, from County Sligo, Ireland. Would appreciate hearing from anyone searching Hunts from that area too. Thanks! Diane in OH
