Greetings: I am a descendent of John HUNT and Martha Jenkins of Bracken Co. KY. I am currently working on trying to prove or disprove that John HUNT was the son of Christopher HUNT and Catey Blassingame. I have found that a John HUNT signed a Meckelenberg Declaration in Anson Co. NC in 1769. Next to his signature were several names (Braswell, Ussery) that also appear next to John HUNT on the Greenville Co. SC census for 1790. THis would place him ( or perhaps his father?) somewhere in western NC in 1769 and assuming he was 20-30 years old at least would infer a birthdate od Circa 1740-1750. I have found an entry for Christopher HUNT in the SOuth Carolina records in which his estate is paid a few pounds for supplies to the army in 1780. I would like to correspond with anyone interested with this family, refered to by many as the Jefferson HUNT family although he has many other descendents from other children.
