ATTEN: Sanford B Hunt Hi Sanford; I noticed that you seem to be a good source of genealogy information for people. I am trying to locate the parents of James Basil HUNT born Sept 20, 1844 in Hopkins Cty Texas. The only problem with that is, Hopkins was not formed until 1847 from Lamar and Nacogdoches Counties. All his memories were of Hopkins and that would be natural, he grew up there, went to war, and got married there. He died in Fairview Wilson, Texas Jan 13, 1938 I have located in Hopkins Cty census of 1860 persons that I believe are his 2 sisters and him staying with a John Parson at the Parson Farm. There is no mention of the parents so I assume that they died and these siblings went to live with John Parsons, Parson bought the HUNT farm or was working the farm for the Hunt survivors. HUNT 15 b TX abt 1844 the age of James HUNT is right for James Basil HUNT I figure it would do no good to look in the 1840 census of VA for the family since it would not give anything but the name of the head of household. Is it possible that you could provide any information or suggestions that would break the log jam ? I have been in contact with Lamar and Nacogdoches home pages and lookups but no luck so far, not even any replies !
