Hi, I'm new to the list and was hoping that someone here might have some advice or information to offer me. My father has just recently discovered that he has a half-sister that he never knew about and we would very much like to try and find her. I'm ashamed to say that my Grandfather has no interest in seeing his daughter and has not been very helpful in giving us what little information he might have. (He's only seen her two times in her life.) Here's what we do know. She was born in Atlanta or the surrounding area some time in 1932. We think her name might have been Mickey (could be spelled Mickie or some other variation - might even be a nickname for Michelle) but we're not sure. Her parents were Dock Hunt and Jennie Blalock Hunt. They were teenagers who married when it was discovered she was pregnant. Jennie's parents then took her away to have the baby and then had her file for divorce or anullment. The state of Georgia won't give us her birth certificate without my Grandfather's permission and Grandpa isn't going to give that, so I'm not sure how to go about discovering the name of my Dad's half-sister, much less finding her now. If anybody has some experience with this type of thing, your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jannie
