I have no relation to any of the Hunts in Vermont (mine are from North Carolina), but I recorded the following: Hunt Cemetery North Tunbridge, VT Visited on 12th October, 2003, this cemetery is located on Vermont 110 about 2.2 miles (3.5 km) North of North Tunbridge, Vermont, USA. Look for the access road to the Vermont Transportation District 4 Garage. Park there. There is a rusted iron fence on the southern boundary of the cemetery, which is marked by an engraved wooden sign with black lettering "Hunt Cemetery". The first section of the cemetery you come to appears to be the newer section and contains no apparent Hunt graves. Paralleling the road, climb a rise to the older and larger section. This section contains many old stones, dating back to at least 1802. Not all stones are legible. The following stones are located about half way back in the old section, some 6-10 stones in from the southern extent of the old area. Dea. Simeon Hunt Died Oct. 14th, 1852 Aged 89 years, 10 months. Lizzie wife of Dea. Simeon Hunt Died Nov. 17th, 1864 Aged 84 years, 3 months, 17 days. (Includes possibly legible inscription) In Memory of Ruth Hunt Wife of Simeon Hunt Who departed this life Nov. 25th, 1815 Age 42 years (Nicely engraved slate stone) In Memory of Hannah Hunt Wife of Daniel Hunt, Jnr. Who Died Dec. 12th, 1802 Aged 44 years In Memory of Daniel Hunt, Jnr. Who Died Apr. 14th, 1826 Aged 75 years (Includes possibly legible inscription) In Memory of Esther Hunt Daughter of Daniel and Hannah Hunt Died Mar. 9th, 1819 Aged 26 years In Memory of Hannah M. Daughter of James (Ny.?) and Sally Hunt Died 21st Dec, 1810 Aged 2 months, 7 days (Includes possibly legible inscription) Fannie Daughter of Stoddard and Eliza Hunt Died May 30th, 1852 Aged 22 years, 8 months Stoddard Hunt Died Dec. 10th, 1855 in the 76th year of his age Eliza Smith Wife of Stoddard Hunt Died July 22nd, 1870 Aged 75 years Mr. Daniel Hunt Died Oct. 1807 The 99th year of his age Mrs. Hannah Wife of Mr. Daniel Hunt Died April 180(8?) in the 8(7?)th ...... Cleaveland His Wife Nov 20, 1824-May 6, 1894 Leslie M. Hunt Jan. 25, 1858-July 15, 1862 (A new polished granite stone on an old granite base) The following 3 stones are located about two-thirds of the way back in the old section, roughly a third of the way in from the southern extent of the old area. They are made out of what appears to be white marble and are embedded (flat) in a large concrete slab. They appear to have once been standing. Daniel S. Hunt Died Feb. 19th, 1882 Aged 55 years, 2 months, 9 days. Henrietta Wife of D.S. Hunt Died Sept 20, 1872 Aged 42 Years Hennessy Farwell Former Wife of D.S. He would have been the right age to be the father of my Gilbert Hunt (b. 1742) who had a son named Daniel. Hello Cousins and fellow Hunt researchers: I recently looked over the William Hunt/Sarah Mills family lineage provided by Elaine Rowland of Dallas, Texas, and noted that I am in that family line. I also noted that Elaine Rowland (who published her work in 1982) is not listed in Dallas, Texas any longer.
