Robert Snyder, then of South Haven, MI, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, a desc. of Ambrose and Sarah, but the father of Ambrose unknow He had the data on 12 children born between 1791 abd 1815, the eldest Henry who died in Leeds Co., Ontario in 1871. All of the children appear to have been associated with Leeds Co., Ont. No references to Quebec or the Eastern Townsips of Canada or to Dutchess. Co. NY. I am familiar with Ambrose Hunt (ca. 1720-ca. 1765), one of the early settlers in the MA Berkshires and Dutchess Co.,. NY, brother of John, Japhet, William, Samuel, and Benson, children of John and Hannah Benson Hunt from old Plymouth Colony, MA. Among Ambrose's know children was Peter Hunt of Kortwright NY who had a son Ambrose, b. Jan. 1781. You Ambrose, b. 1764. would have fallen between these two Ambroses and possibly an unidentified son of the first Ambrose if Dutchess Co., NY, is the right location for your Ambrose. I have spent several years researching the Hunts of Dutchess Co., NY and the families of the brothers mentioned. Found no reference to a Jeremiah Hunt. I have also spent several years researching the early Hunts of the Eastern Townships of Canada without coming aceoss the names Jeremiah or Ambrose., albeit I do have record of a Jonah Hunt and Philip Hunt among the early settlers in Bolton. All too much to get into by E-Mail. If you would care to send me your documentation by regular mail I may be able to help you and increase the knowledge of both of us.
