    3. Well today was a very nice day for locating a cousin once removed. He more my father cousin but for some reason my grandfather and great uncle lost communications. I had inherited my great aunts photo collection and decided it was time to start scanning each image onto the computer to create a slide show DVD once completed. I suspect I will be creating two DVD as this is a very large photo collection from 1920 - 1980s. My great aunt died around 1995. She was also the person that got me into genealogy. Well this lost cousin sent my great aunt a lot of WW2 photo and later sent a picture of a house that belonged to his son. It was the only clue I had that said my great uncle had a son. My dad denied the fact he ever had a son. Anyway on back of picture it stated My son "his name" just sold his home and bought this home in "city" NC. So I got a name and went to www.msn.com and opened their white pages and did a search for my cousin name in town listed. Bingo I have a name that matched and an address. I have installed a satellite image program called google earth. You can just type "google earth" into any search engine and be taken to install page. Anyway I pluged in my cousin address from MSN whitepage into google earth and it took me to his house. As I inspect the picture of his house I can see fencing in back of his house and see a house behind his house with an off centered fireplace. He also has a two story house and I can see this from google earth along with the power line that hanged across the top of the picture I can see power pole from google earth in front of his house. It looked like a perfect match. Since the picture was taken in 1977 I was skeptical. Is he still alive? I missed one cousin by 3 month. Does he care about knowing his Hunt family side? I suspected if he wanted total privacy he would never had popped up on MSN white page. I called him this morning and he was very receptive he turned out to be very interested in family and the history of our family. I am very excited with this and looking forward to reconnecting a lost connection in our family lines. I offered to purchase a DNA kit for him and he agree to take the challenge. I told him my dad has this issue where one side of the family told him he didnt look like a Hunt so in back of my dad head he ponder this. I am hoping this new found cousin will be a 100% match so my dad can put that issue to rest once and for all. =) I hope you all enjoyed reading this and I thank you for taking time to read this. I started a My Family site for my Shumate family and we are having a ball finding each other, exchanging information, and getting leads to more information.
