James Hunt, arrived some years before the Revolutinary War and resided in Hanover Co., VA. His so, Charles, migrated to SC as early as 1779/80 (1790 census rec'ds.). James Hunt, likely son of James and Sarah Whitlock of (of VA) or was he the son of Christopher Hunt, RWS, b. ?, Granville Co., NC; d. 7 Feb. 1765 (s/o unk. Hunt). Christopher Hunt later along with his parents settled in SC before the Rev. War, near Camden, SC.
