    3. Ok my take from my research off top of my head. Doesnt make me right but it how I remember it. ckgleo@aol.com wrote: >"History of Pittsylvania Co., VA" ... In 1746, James and Ralph Hunt (prob. bros. and parents unk.) of Hanover bought lands in Lunenburg Co., VA and there James Hunt reared a large family and they were: 1. Charles, 2. Nathaniel, 3. James, Jr., 4. Elijah, m. 26 Sept. 1761, Sarah Richardson; 5. David m. Nancy Richardson; 6. Gilbert and 7. John Hunt. > >James Hunt, arrived some years before the Revolutinary War and resided in Hanover Co., VA. His so, Charles, migrated to SC as early as 1779/80 (1790 census rec'ds.). James Hunt, likely son of James and Sarah Whitlock of (of VA) or was he the son of Christopher Hunt, RWS, b. ?, Granville Co., NC; d. 7 Feb. 1765 (s/o unk. Hunt). Christopher Hunt later along with his parents settled in SC before the Rev. War, near Camden, SC. > > > The Christopher who settle near Camden, SC was married to Catherine "Catey" Blassingame. I have seen some document where Blazzingame bought land from Whitfield. Whitfield did a lot of land transaction in SC and even has a creek named after him called Whitfield Creek which lead to the Great Pee Dee River. The USGS has listed Hunt's Bluff on the Great Pee Dee River as Whitfield Bluff's as an alternative name. Christopher middle intial is "C". In researching my line there is a Andrea Leonardo work from the 1950's has it stated that my 3rd great grandfather sister son in it. Saying that his mother is a Hunt. Catherine Hunt b1869 ( I might add she got married with her step father surname of Skipper. She married an Owens) daughter of John Enias Hunt and Sarah Elizabeth Rowe and state that one of their children is Christopher Cresswell Hunt( There are no other proof of this.) (As he may have been born between 1860 and 1870). >John Hunt, of Bracken Co., KY (s/o Ralph Hunt) had "power of atty", regarding the estate of his brother, Thomas B. Hunt, in 1803, of Union Co., SC. > > Thomas B. Hunt some think he middle name is Blassingame yet no proof of it being that. His second wife is Mary Winter. He passed away in Georgetown County, SC at an estate yet the legal issue were in Union County, SC. This was a long battle as far as I can tell from reading and the document are available from Archives. > >"A Family by the Name of HUNT" (p. 7) ... Beaverdam Baptist Church at Fair Play, SC.
