Found the following information in the 'Oklahoma Genealogical Society Quarterly', 1991, Volume 36, No. 1: PROBATE RECORDS AND WILLS OF OKLAHOMA COUNTY, VOLUME 1 - 1889 to 1899, by John H. Porter (Submitted by Ruth Eager Moran, Oklahoma City) HUNT, Wm. Tipton, Apr 14, 1891: Celestine N. Hunt, James D. Hunt; all of the following listed as brothers, Alonza Hunt, John C. Hunt, O. P. Hunt, H. C. Hunt. NOTE: I located a record that shows that Celestine's surname is BAUM, and that she is the daughter of Charles William BAUM and Catherine WEAVER. I also located a record showing that William Tipton HUNT is the son of Miles Parker HUNT and Mary Lowe BOTKIN. If anyone is interested I have found more information, which I can send. Marsha
Looking for anyone with the descendants of Ralph Hunt and Elizabeth Ann Jessup. They are my 10G Grandparents. Richard Foster
Can someone advise me how to change my email address for this list? Am discontinuing this one, changing to another over the weekend. Thanks.
I haven't noticed any new public accessable sample for surname of Hunt. FTDNA had started a new upgrade from 37 marker to 67. This is actually 3 panel in one. FTDNA also announce the purchase of DNA-Fingerprint a company from Germany that was very important in supplying us with new innovated technique in the area of genetic genealogy. SMGF did an update to their database as of yesterday and added a couple new marker to their search engine for Y-DNA(paternal line) sampling. SMGF also created a new database using mtDNA(maternal line) I will have to take a look at this later. enjoy Allen FTDNA www.FTDNA.com SMGF www.smgf.org
HELLO ALL YOU HUNTS WHAT ARE THE CHANCES THAT SOMEONE KNOWS WHAT THE HUNT SURNAME CREST IS FROM AUSTRALIA ? ANY HELP PLEASE LET ME KNOW KEN HUNT
My Reuben Hunt lived in Ward 11, New York. He was born in 1790 in New York and was a chairmaker. In the 1850 census he was living with his wife, Dorothy age 55, sons Richard b. 1831(2) and James b. 1821, and daughter (Ida) Jane. I know the Reuben Hunt line of Westchester, New York is a popular one and usually folks tell me my Reuben probably came from Moses Hunt. But the dates they give me makes Moses 100 years old when he had Reuben. ??? So maybe Moses is from Methuselah's line? Anyway, kidding aside, my line come from Reuben to Ida Jane and to Richard Reuben Williams. Is there anyone here who has connections to this line back to 1790? thank you Carol Florida Copies to Westchester, NY message board, Hunt board
My family doesn't seem to use much in the way of unusual derivative names. But we sure use unusual childhood names that stick even through adulthood. For example, I have cousins, Momo (Mary), Boo (Ruth), Chiachi (Mary Charlotte). I had an Uncle Bi (William), Aunt Duba, (Mary Elizabeth), a great Aunt Duck (Susan), and a grandmother whom her family called Aunt Mab (Mary).
