I see we have one new person over on YSearch ID NRV67. He is an R1b and the listed Ancestor is Daniel Hunt b 1776 D 1849 Huntsville, Rowan County, NC. I have placed him in my spreadsheet ran a couple sort through marker and see he has a not so perfect but yet fit within the Richard Hunt b 1562 in England. He may be a direct descent or may be an distant relative further back per the number of marker different but none the less I feel comfortable placing him in with this group. Allen Brian Hunt
Does anyone on the list happen to have copies of the subject newsletter for July 1997 (Vol. 12-Issue 4) and Nov. 1994 (Vol. 9-Issue 8). Evidently, both issues have articles about the Hunt family in Calvert Co., MD that I would like to obtain copies of. The articles could be scanned and e-mailed to me or hard copies made and snail mailed to me. Thank you. Walt DeWaele
Thank you, Allen. Sorry about the misspelling of your name. I only have my e-husbands birth certificate to go by and the Memorial paper of his brother to go by which has son of Nathaniel Hunt & Amy Lew Chavis. I have been trying to get info for a years and nothing. The birth certificate is hard to read and I have people to try and read the names of his parents. It looks like Nathaniel Hunt and Annie Lew Chavis. Don't think they were Quakers and I feel like North Carolina and South Carolins is the mane source. Is this list just for the HUNT surname in USA? If so does anyone know of a site for HUNT UK? Thanks Jan
Jan, There are Hunts of American and/or British ancestry all over the world... I am a Belgian citizen residing in Brazil. Over the course of the past 4 centuries, my Hunt ancestors lived successively in Britain, America (VA>KY>MO), France and Belgium. I descend from Julius Hunt, Yeoman, born in Stepney, Middlesex in 1724 and victim of arbitrary deportation to America in 1743. I belong to the E3b haplogroup. My reference on Ysearch is XEQWS. I believe there was a person's site in the Hunt Webring that addresses this line. Worth taking a look. I seem to recall that they had made some link to their John Hunt on a ship's passenger manifest. http://d.webring.com/hub?ring=huntlist There is also a book currently on eBay titled: "AMAZING STORY OF THE HUNTS IN CANADA". It is item #280025191328. I don't own this book... But have it in my watch list just in case a fellow researcher asked about Canadian Hunts. :) ... Matthew J.
