Hi Phyllis This sound more like the John and Martha Hunt line. I believe this is the line that went from NC > SC > KY > Indiana. At the John Hunt and Christopher Hunt do no appear to be related. Once more folks get test the better this picture gets. Renay and I are thinking we are from the same line of Christopher Hunt. It appear she has more proof then I do. Samuel that Renay is working on was born in 1790. -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: "Phyllis Rice" <melvina@farmerstel.com> > > I am looking for a Samuel Hunt b. 1839 in Fayette County, Kentucky > I do not know his father's name but his mother's name is Martha. > They moved from Fayette County, Kentucky to Indiana > He was married in Gibson County, Indiana, in 1870 census > in Daviess County, Indiana. > Could this William Hunt be my Samuel's Father? > Would apprieciate any information on this family. > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to HUNT-request@rootsweb.com > with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of > the message
Looking for any leads on Willard Munroe Hunt. (maybe Munroe Willard ?) Supposedly he was a bootmaker out of Braintree/Quincy area of Mass. He might have married a Mary (Elizabeth?) Phillips (Philips), who might have been from Maine (District of Maine back then. Maybe her farther was a carpenter and inventor? He had a son Wallace Seymour Hunt. Wallace lived for a while in Utica/Syracuse N.Y. and then lived primarily Belfast, Maine. We do not know how or when the drift to NY occurred. He had two sons. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Renay Hunt" <rhunt5@cfl.rr.com> To: <Hunt-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, October 27, 2006 11:02 AM Subject: [HUNT] Children of William Hunt >I am trying to find anyone who might have information on Samuel Hunt, the >son of William Hunt, son of Christopher Hunt and Caty Blassingham. > > Has anyone from this William Hunt's family group participated in the dna > testing. > > Any information would be greatly appreciated. > > Renay Hunt > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > HUNT-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes > in the subject and the body of the message
Do you have any information on this John and Martha line? According to the 1860 Martin County, Indiana Census Martha 46 was born in Virginia. It also list a John age 21 born in Kentucky.and a Jesse WGT age 8 born in Indiana I don't know what W.G.T. stands for. On the pension papers she was 74 on October 3, 1885. This is all the information I know about my Samuel.
I am looking for a Samuel Hunt b. 1839 in Fayette County, Kentucky I do not know his father's name but his mother's name is Martha. They moved from Fayette County, Kentucky to Indiana He was married in Gibson County, Indiana, in 1870 census in Daviess County, Indiana. Could this William Hunt be my Samuel's Father? Would apprieciate any information on this family.
I am trying to find anyone who might have information on Samuel Hunt, the son of William Hunt, son of Christopher Hunt and Caty Blassingham. Has anyone from this William Hunt's family group participated in the dna testing. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Renay Hunt
I think this extremely thoughtful and kind of you. Jean St. Louis "Matthew J. Hunt" <matt@hunttech.net> wrote: Hello, I know I've sent links to eBay items related to our surname to the list before. I do this because I comb eBay and other sites for items related to my family line. There is currently an item in a seller's store that is a cabinet photo of "Thomas Orren Hunt". The actual description is this: "NO RESERVE - This is a wonderful early vintage 4 1/4" X 6 1/2" EARLY Cabinet photo of an identified person named Thomas Orren Hunt. Scan shows condition but item is much nicer in person and scan does not do justice to an in-person view. I have not researched this person but they could be prominent or Civil War related. This is a must for vintage photo collectors or this could be a missing family member in your geneaology!!" Again, my aim is not to clog the email list with garbage. Hello I am very interested in your Hunt line from Bridgwater, Somerset. My Grandmother was a de Vere Hunt. Our Hunt line goes to Ireland and then back to Gosfield, Essex. I shall start with Henry Hunt who married Jane de Vere in Gosfield, Essex in 1573. They had a daughter Dorothea/Dorothy Hunt who married Sir Francis Kingsmill, from Sidmonton, Hampshire, he fought in Ireland, and had land at Ballybeg, Co.Cork. I have been unable to find their marriage, but he is mentioned in Henry's Will, as being the husband of their daughter Dorothea/Dorothy. Francis Kingsmill died in 1620, and is buried at St. Mary's, Bridgwater, Somerset. It states on his monument that he came from Ballybeg, Co. Cork. His son Henry is also buried there died 1621, and another son also named Francis died 1640, is also buried with the father. I have looked for them having property at Bridgwater, but I have been told they did not have any, and they probably lived at the castle, if that was so, why would it say he came from Ballybeg, Co. Cork. I should also note at this time that his wife Dorothea/Dorothy isn't buried with him. As a point of note, Francis Kingsmill's aunt married a Pawlett, hence the name of the town. Now let us get back to Henry Hunt, he was the eldest of eleven children, and you guessed it, he had a brother Thomas, who would have been born about mid 1500's this Thomas married, (don't know who) had a son named William. Henry & Thomas's father's name was William. I know this is probably too far back, for you but I would like you to keep this information in mind, as their may be a connection. Looking forward to hearing what you have to say. Best Wishes Roslyn Dunning Australia
Hi all. I was a member here long, long ago! It doesn't seem half as busy as it was then! My Hunt line is focussed in Somerset, Uk. I have gotten to Thomas HUNT, born 1807 Bridgwater, married Mary ROGERS Dec 5th 1830 I link to the line through Thomas/Mary's son, John, born 1852 in Pawlett. I haven't been able to spend the necessary time researching this for a while, hence I haven't progressed at all on this line for many years now!

Greetings all, I thought I'd contribute my direct line, such as it is, in the hope that somebody might recognise something. Me - Colin Hunt, b. Bath, Somerset, 1959 Dad - Frederick Ernest Hunt, b. Bath, Somerset, 1915, d. 2001 Grandad - Frederick Hunt, b. Bath, Somerset, 1886, d. 1929 Great-Grandad - Charles Hunt, b. Paddington, Middlesex, circa 1826, d. Bath 1903. Great-Great-Grandad - Charles Hunt - no dates known - occupation given and "Painter" on his son's marriage certificate. This is really rather feeble compared with the other lines I've researched, but I offer it for what it's worth. Regards, Colin Hunt

Please give us dates and locations.
For my introductory post I would like to lay out what I know of my line thus far. I am pretty sure that the connections are correct. I also have to thank a number of people who have posted in the past here as well as contributed elsewhere. My plan is to use what I have found in various locations on the internet to begin compiling the source data for my entire line. I am the eldest of three children of a Living HUNT and Living PARKS. His father, my grandfather was Robert Cecil Hunt, the son of William Esley Hunt and Fannie Alice Mayfield Hunt. William Esley being the son of John Wesley Hunt and Mary C Knox Hunt. John Wesley being the son of Esley (Marion?) Hunt and Jane Quarles. From there, it goes back some distance. Hopefully these connections will guide me to the right folks. I am hoping to find that Esley Hunt is the son of William Lacey Hunt and Keziah McClanahan. David Hunt,
