    2. Looking for parents of Richard M. HUNT, b. 1824, probably in Wilson Co., Tennessee. He died in 1896 in Gibson Co., TN, before death certificates were issued. >From the 1830 and 1840 US census records it appears that his father is either Mathew or John HUNT, or Samuel HUNT in Rutherford Co., TN. But John HUNT's will did not name a son Richard. Richard M. HUNT's first son is named John M. HUNT. But there is more of a simlarity between the names of children of Richard M. HUNT and Matthew HUNT. 3. Hi, You wouldn't have any Enoch Hunts in your family. He was born in Titden, Parish at Lee, Bucks co., England. That's about 2 miles from Wendover, England. He became a Freeman in Newport, Rhode Island in 1638. Settled in the Rehaboth, Mass. area. He returned to England and died there in 1658. He was a blacksmith by trade. 1. [HUNT] Lamar Hunt Passed away Dec 13, 2006
    2. I am not sure Lamar Hunt had been to this list. I thought I mention that he passed away today. Lamar Hunt was involved in US Sport in Football. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamar_Hunt Lamar Hunt (August 2, 1932—December 13, 2006) was a promoter of American football, soccer, tennis, basketball, and ice hockey in the United States and an inductee of the first three sports' halls of fame. He was one of the founders of the American Football League and Major League Soccer (MLS), as well as MLS predecessor the North American Soccer League. He was also the founder and owner of the National Football League's Kansas City Chiefs, and at his death owned two MLS teams, FC Dallas and the Columbus Crew. The oldest annual team tournament in the U.S. in any sport, soccer's U.S. Open Cup (founded 1914) now bears his name in honor of his pioneering role in that sport stateside. In Kansas City, Hunt also helped establish the Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun theme parks. In 1972, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame; in 1982, into the National Soccer Hall of Fame; and in 1993 into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The National Soccer Hall of Fame bestowed u! pon Mr. Hunt their Medal of Honor in 1999, an award given to only 3 recipients in history thus far.

    1. [HUNT] SMGF mtDNA update
    2. mtDNA is the female version of the men YDNA. mtDNA is passed down from mother to her children but is only passed on down by the female in this line. The men will only have what their is from their mother and is not passed down to his children. Sorenson has added a feature to search by surname in their database. Due to structure of mtDNA I have not bothered to extract any data. So I am just letting anyone know if you are into mtDNA information you can now verify your line to a surname match in the database. Hopefully this link works. http://www.smgf.org/mtdna/search.jspx If the above link doesnt work got to http://www.smgf.org Then click on "Search mtDatabase" If you need some value to put into the search engine use the following. These are some what generic as in found in more then one group of mtDNA results. In HRV1 use this value only. "16519C" Enjoy and I like to say this isnt a very easy way to find result of distance family line but it a start. I hope everyone is enjoying the Holiday. Allen Brian Hunt
