Wyman lists Thomas Hunt(5) (William4, William3, Samuel2, William1) marrying Mary Smith 2 Nov 1738 Norwich, Conn., but does not indicate parents of Mary. A check of Torrey (1985) suggests parents may have been either Samuel Smith (mar. 1696 Norwich) or Obadiah Smith (mar. 1699 Norwich). Does anyone know who were Mary Smith's parents ? Thanks. OPYoung
When you get a chance write a little blurb like the one below and give it a name. Whenever you receive a HUNT request from a non-subscriber just insert the BLURB in your reply in an appropriate place. "It might be to your advantage to join the HUNT List and its 200+ researchers. Just send an E-Mail to <Hunt-L-request@rootsweb.com> Put the word SUBSCRIBE in the SUBJECT line and the ONLY word in the TEXT. You will be given instructions-then you can reach all HUNT researchers with one address. You can get out of it the same way just use the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the same manner" Sandy in Lubbock.

Hi folks - The only member of my immediate family who ventured from England's "green & pleasant land" was my uncle, Percy Joseph Hunt. He was born in 1882 and set sail for Canada some time before WWI. He settled in Windsor Ontario and I understand that his occupation was that of "trucker". Any information about "Uncle Per" would be most gratefully received. Cheers. Peter. -- Peter Hunt @ St. Albans
Hello Hunt list, This should have gone out on Friday. October 16th marked the four-hundred thirty-ninth anniversary of the marriage of Thomas Hunt and Alice Pollarde, which took place in St. Nicholas Parish, Leicester, England. The groom was born about 1530 in Powerstock, England. Thomas and Alice had five known children: William, Johane, Thomas, Richard, and Elizabeth. The parents of both Thomas and Alice are not known to this researcher, and in fact no definite dates for Alice aside from her marriage are available at this time. Thomas lived until 1606 and was buried in St. Nicholas Parish on Dec. 4. The line of descent from Thomas and Alice that I am researching is: Thomas Hunt and Alice Pollarde Thomas Hunt ? England - 1620 England Thomas Hunt ? England - 1642 England Mary Hunt ca1639 England - 1690 MA Thomas Ingersoll 1668 MA - 1732 MA Moses Ingersoll 1694 MA - 1751 MA Peter Ingersoll 1733 MA - 1785 MA Thomas Ingersoll 1753 MA - ca1844 NY David Ingersoll 1773 NY - 1842 IL David Dewitt Ingersoll 1840 IL - 1894 KS Elmer Ulyses Ingersoll 1866 IL - 1938 IL Ethel Delilah Ingersoll 1897 KS - 1959 OK Betty Jean Vancil 1925 OK - For more information on Thomas and Alice and their descendants, visit www.my-ged.com/powell which is my web page, or Rick Ingersoll's page www.my-ged.com/inger or better yet these pages devoted specifically to Hunt genealogy, www.geocities.com/heartland/plains/4813 or members.aol.com/huntlist/index.html The information presented on Thomas and Alice Hunt was passed along to me by Sandy Hunt, with whom most of you are familiar, who noted his source as the Hunt genealogy by T. E. Wyman. I feel I speak for all of us when I express my gratitude for the time, effort, and energy Sandy has put into collecting and researching Hunt genealogy and assisting other researchers like myself.

Several folks have asked for more detail, so I guess I had better try this again. This is my direct line. 1. William Hunt(t) date of birth and location unknown; married about 1655 in Charles City Co., Va to Judith Burton; died between 1666-68, IOW., Va; 2. William Hunt born before 1661 in IOW. Va.; later moved to Surry Co., Va. Made his will 20 March 1711 in Surry Co. He married Sarah Knott about 1680 in Charles City Co., Va 3. William Hunt born 1682 Surry Co., Va., died before Arpil 10, 1727 in Surry Co., married Sarah Wyche about 1700; 4. Henry Hunt was born about 1700; made his will 1750 in Granville Co.(present day Franklin Co.), NC; will names wife Agnes _________. 5. Henry Hunt was born ca 1738 probably in Granville Co., NC married Martha "Patty" _______ca 1758; Henry died between 1771-1777 intestate; his widow then married Elias Gay ca 1780; Numerous Franklin Co., NC deeds prove that the Martha Patty who married Elias Gay was the widow of Henry Hunt. At present, three children have been identified for Henry and Martha "Patty": Charity Hunt born ca 1768; Mary Polly Hunt born ca 1770 Franklin Co., NC died May 28, 1851 Fayette Co., Ga., married William Gay ca 1796; and William Hunt born ca 1772. Family tradition indicates that there were additional daughters who have not yet been identified. Sandy Sharp

Melissa- It MAY be on the death certificate. Depends on who the "Informant" was at the death scene. If a close relative then the information if there is probably correct. If a next-door neighbor then its open to question. Most death certificates (originals-not copies) have a place for parents. All the info is subject to proof . Be carefull IF the informant wasn't a close family member. Sandy Hunt in Lubbock Texas P.S. Birth and death certificates are available in OHIO from: Bureau of Vital Statistics Ohio Department of Health P. O. I'm looking for anyone with Hunt roots in Lawrence County, OH. The ancestor I'm attempting to research is Alonzo Hunt, probably born between 1850-1861 (probably in Lawrence Cty.), died 1925 in Marion, OH. As the family was very poor at the time of his death, my mother, my siblings, and I have recently purchased tombstones for him and his wife, and the gravestone company is requesting his birthdate...and we have no idea. So far,the Lawrence County Health Department has no information, and we do not even know the names of his parents as a possible locator. Would this information be part of his death certificate? (although it seems that the gravestone company would have tried that...), or does anyone have any other suggestions that we may have missed searching? I appreciate any help anyone can give!
