Dear Bette: Yes and no! Yes, I have a list of the children, including Esli who was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. I have not worked on my HUNTS for a few years but have quite a bit. I just fot back from the dentist where I went because of an infection. Needless to say I'm not in the mood just now but will list the 14 children. Then share more later. Jesse, b. 29 Jan. 1755 - d. Washington Co., TN Uriah, b. 2 March 1757 - d. before Oct. 1825 Wash. Co., TN Esli, b. 10 Jan. 1758/1759 in Bedford Co VA - d. 8 May 1837 Greenville Co., SC (Does this agree with what you have?) Mary, b. 18 Feb. 1761 Thomas HUNT (Sr.), b. 5 July 1762 - d. bef. 17 July 1827 in Wash. Co., TN William, b. 12 Dec. 1763 - d. bef. 8 Mar. in Autauga Co., AL. Sene (Asenath), b. 15 Sep. 1765 - d. after Feb. 1812 Joel Peter Elizabeth Moses John Benjamin Phoebe I will finish this another time. The book is not about Esli or my John's lineage as I understand it, just some background, on the 14, then covers Buckey and his descendands. I am looking for information of a Albert Edward Hunt who married a Mary Elizabeth Hunter in England in the late 1800's. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as you can see I have very little to go on. Thank you Carol Ontario, Canada
Thanks to all who have responded to my Thomas Hunt (b. 1580) questions. I am looking forward to learning all I can about him, as well as my Hunt and Underhill ancestors, including Capt. John Underhill. This is my Hunt-Underhill line: 1. Thomas Hunt, b. 1580; married Cicely Paisley, b. 1585 2. Thomas Hunt, b. 1605 West Farms, NY; married Elizabeth Jessop 3. John Hunt, b. 1668 in Providence, RI; married Grace Fowler 4. Mary Hunt, b. 7/22/1692 Westchester, LI, NY; m. Nathaniel Underhill, b. 1690 Nathaniel Underhill was the grandson of John Underhill, b. 1597, who apparently was Capt. John Underhill, who helped the Dutch defeat the Peguots. Nathaniel's daughter Sarah married Elisha Hyatt, and their daughter Sarah Hyatt married David Frost, b. 1743 White Plains, NY. His son, Underhill Frost, had a son Jacob Frost, b. 1797 in Carmel, Putnam County, NY. Jacob's daughter Jane Frost, b. 3/20/1821 married John W. Cuffman, b. 1816 Ithaca, NY. He was my gggggrandfather. That, in a nutshell, is my Hunt-Underhill connection. I had been brick walling for about 2 years, until I discovered the only Cuffman in the LDS database, who was my John W.'s brother. From there, I just kept going back, and back, and back, to everyone's amazement. So, now that I know who they were, I'm looking forward to researching them. I found a good book, "The Musket and the Cross," by Walter Edmonds, who also wrote "Drums Along the Mohawk." It gives a lot of details about the Dutch and English in NY during that time period, and I was thrilled to find both Thomas Hunt and John Underhill mentioned. I'm especially interested in historical details of any of those people. Thanks! Diane Cuffman Ryder, OH

Hello Hunt List, I wish to voice the same opinion as did Felicia. Sandy has always been so very nice to me, helping in every way, as has Courtney. I received valuable information from both of them - and I am relatively new to computers. The both of them took time from their busy schedules to help me on several requests. I do so appreciate it, as I know that all of us do. We are all "family" and we overcome any and all problems that come our way. God Bless, Bobbie Lou Bridges Glen Rose, TX

I feel fortunate to be distantly related to Mrs. Ruby Lou Hranicky. Her Rev. "Bucky" Hunt was my Thomas Hunt's brother. I have read and reviewed the book and it is beautifully done and documented. Old "stories" are debunked and documented. Other old family stories are laid out (also documented) for the world to see as history---not dressed up! There are many, many pictures and it is being sold at less than the cost of publishing. It compares with many books I have seen sold at $60. to $100. It is a real bargain at $40. plus mailing charges of $6.00. Send to Ruby Lou Hranicky, 2706 Bretshire, Corpus Christi, TX 78414. I have not had any luck with researching my HUNT family. Some very nice people have tried to help out but looks like I have been going in a wrong direction. I am looking for the parentage of my great grandfather William Edward Hunt b. Oct. 19, 1877 died April 24, 1942 in Montgomery County TN. His father was William Hunt (Billy) and his mother is listed as Pushin Gilbert on his death certificate. However, there is some indication that his mother may be Sara M. Bryant b. 1846. Could Pushin be a step mother? If Sara Bryant is his mother then he has at least two sisters called Almer and Tommie and a brother (It may have been Luthrie). This brother had a son named Hill Hunt (my grandpa's first cousin) who dug wells and was a well known caracter in Montgomery County. If Sara is not his mother then I am REALLY sniffing up the wrong tree. The family seems to be heavily rooted in the Montgomery County area and they were tobacco farmers. Can any one out there help at all? I know I am giving alot of extraneous information here but I am hoping that something will ring a bell with someone out there. Thanks Lori
Sandy, Did you have to ask if I couldn't wait? I would be thrilled to hear anything new. I get so very excited when something new comes my way. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Dee
