    3. WYMAN is the classic HUNT genealogy of the Northeast Hunts.. GENEALOGY OF THE NAME AND FAMILY OF HUNT by T. B. Wyman 1863. Reprinted in 1969. Regarding a question on Ephraim, the following is from page 274. Ephraim married Sarah Peck Nov 8, 1722 and subsequently married Rachel Nichols. Both children are by 1st wife--Sarah b. 19 Oct 1724 and Judith b. 10 Feb 1726. d. May 1728. Mrs. Hunt 1st d. 03 June 1728 per gravestone. Mrs. Hunt 2nd d. 15 June 1784 in her 85th year. 1st Dau. m. Phillip Whitaker Nov 14, 1748. There are four pages of probate in Bristol on Mr. Hunt's WILL.Vol xxiv, pages 84-87 His estate valued at 3000 pounds sterling. He left the second Congregational Church in Rehoboth $10,000. Many names of relatives who received bequests. Nothing further on the Whitakers. Sandy in Lubbock

    3. A few things to point out. Did the William S. of Abner have a wife Elizabeth Sheppard? What year was ABNER born? As I said I don't find an ABNER son of Jacob. That doesn't mean he's non-existent. The references you cite are usually ok. However you must consider that any one or all of them were taken from the other as is often the case. What you need is the source of each-My guess on the FTW is that it was copied from LDS. LDS reference was probably used for the DAR. I find one William, son of an ABNER but doesn't go back to Jacob. All three of your references probably have the same source. Without paperwork these references are only as good as the source. (They may have been in IN prior to IL... based on census work only) I am also interested in the Hunt families who were in Rush Co., IN around the 1847 time frame. Would appreciate any assistance. 2. Yes, Jacob was the son of Ephraim Hunt b. 4 Jan 1729, Braintree, Mass. and his wife Delight Mann. Ephraim and Delight were married 11 Oct 1750 in Braintree. and he was the son of Ephraim and Ruth Allen. The next generation is Capt. Ephraim Hunt and Joanna Alcook and the next, Ephraim Hunt and Ann Richards. This Ephraim Hunt is the son of the immigrant, Enoch Hunt and Dorothy Barker of Titendam Parish, England. Ephraim (who married Ann Richards,) came to Newport, R.I. in 1636 (with his father?) 2. Hello, I am looking for anyone who might be descended from Jacob Hunt b. 1754 m. Hannah Littlefield who would want to exchange info. I think he moved from MA to VA, but do not know where or have proof. I have very little on his family. Hope to hear from someone. Thank You, Michelle Hunt Scarlett

Our John's father is William Hunt, Jr. This deed record serves as the proof you seek. In Surry Cty, VA, is a deed (Deed for 1739) from Richard Kennon of Charles City Co, VA, and wife Ann, to John Allen, Gent., of Surry Co., which grants land formerly granted to William Hunt, Gent, of Charles City Co, deceased Oct 4, 1701, for 432 acres, and given by William Hunt to his son John Hunt, father of Ann Kennon.
