Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ZSk.2ACIB/2574 Message Board Post: Are there any descendants of George Hunt and Charlotte Ackerman researching this family? My Great grandfather was their Second son William George born 28 February 1848. His parents were Married at Evesham in the March quarter of 1841. He had an older brother Oliver Charles who subsequently ran the Post Office with his wife Jane Roberts this couple were married in 1870 at Evesham. A younger brother did well as a Brush Manufacturer in Manchester. He was Albert Henry b. in 1852 and he married a lady named Adelaide. They had an only child in 1893 named Adele Ackerman Hunt. She remained a spinster and was orphaned at the age of 8. She went to live with Wm. Geo Hunt ,his wife Jane Hunt nee Leney and their family. A third brother was Arthur John. I suspect he may have died prematurely as I've know record of him after his birth. There is a possibility that there was an older sister named Jane Elizabeth born to a George and Charlotte Hunt at Bengeworth in 1842 before Oliver who was! born in the( March?) of 1844 . Anyone having any information regarding this family I'd be grateful if you would get in contact.

    3. I am working on this one. Maybe some of you may be able to crack it before I do. Lets have a go at it anyway. Sandy Hunt Lubbock TX ----- Original Message ----- From: "nancy wanser" <[email protected]> To: "SANFORD B HUNT" <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, January 09, 2002 6:19 PM Subject: Re: Hunt Family Genealogy Sandy, I really hate to say this but I have no idea what branch of the family George is from. Older family members have died and no one else seems to know. Here is the info: George W. Hunt may have been born in CT, was a soldier of the French and Indian War and married Mary Harrington or Herrington that is all the info I have on him. George W. Hunt, II was born in 1771 in CT. He served in the War of 1812 for 3 months. He married Mary Brown born 1787 in NY daughter of Jonathan Brown and Elizabeth Washburn. Jonathan was a Rev. War Vet and later moved to Brookfield, Tioga Co., PA. George II was married 29 Sep 1804 in Dutchess Co., NY and later moved to Delaware Co., NY. They had 11 children, Charles, Elizabeth, John R., Richard, George W. III, Sarah, Adam, Jackson, Robert Burdett, James, and 1 child died in infancy. They came to Brookfield, Tioga Co., PA in 1844. He dided 28 Mar 1852 and she died 6 Feb 1856. Both are buried in the Brookfield Cemetery, Brookfield, Tioga Co., PA. He was a blacksmith by trade. Enlisted from Middletown, Delaware Co., NY Some census info that I have 1800 census Middletown, Delaware Co., NY list George Hunt not married then. 1830 Census Middletown list 7 males & 4 female in household. 1850 census Tioga Co., Brookfield, PA list place of birth at CT. That is all in info that I have been able to find on George & George II. My father who died several years ago in his 80's never knew the answers either and it is something we had worked on. That is as far back as we could find. If you find anything I would appreciate if you would let me know. Thank you Nancy Wanser

    2. The following is from Somebody's Links, Vol. 4, No. 2. I know nothing further about the photo. If interested, please contact Tracey Grant at [email protected] o I rescued some envelopes and some family photos at a flea market recently. The envelopes were addressed to Miss Florence MOORE, PO Box 324, New Castle, Pennsylvania (postmarked 1919; postage was two cents). Two were from Pt. Hubert F. DAVIDSON, F Co. 23 Inf., American E.F. (11 January 1919). The photos included professional looking pictures: -- "Ethel" written on the back of a photo of what looks like about a three year old girl. -- Photo of a girl about nine years old has written on the back: "Grandma HUNT. This was taken just after she came back from the children's home." -- What appears to be a graduation picture -- A snapshot dated 1932 of a man Payment books beginning in May 1900 for the MOORE family (Malcolm, Anna, W. Glenn, and Harold) I'd be happy to send these items to their descendants. Tracey Grant [email protected]
