    3. The answer to this question is "we don't know". Unless someone has recent information (after May 1996) the wives are as listed in the Col. Jonathan manuscript page 50. Sort of take your pick. He had three wives but we don't know the order. If someone has better and proveable information please let me know so we can CHANGE the manuscript. Sandy Hunt Agent for Mitchell J. Hunt Lubbock TX

Wilson Hunt and Agnes Burns did not have any children that I know of. With Margaret Shotwell he had a number of children: Clarrissa b. Nov. 25, 1794 who married Samuel Lawrence, Phebe b. I have a great deal of information on Wilson Hunts line back through Col Jonathan and back to Ralph Sr. that I would be glad to share with you if you don't have this. My own line comes through Anna Hunt daughter of Ralph Sr. who married Theophilus Phillips but I have followed the Col Jonathan Hunt line extensively because like several of my other connected ancestors to Hopewell Twp. 1. [HUNT-L] Northampton-Lebanon HUNTs
    2. SANFORD B HUNT
    3. In the next edition of Sandy Hunt's Northampton-Lebanon Hunts (not yet published but in the DOWNLOADS) will be the following previously controversial subject now clarified.: ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ INTRODUCTION by Mitchell J. Hunt THE ANCESTORS OF THE PIONEER JONATHAN HUNT (1637-1691) OF NORTHAMPTON, MASSACHUSETTS The ancestors of Jonathan Hunt, the pioneer at Northampton, MA, and the start of the long so-called Northampton Line of Hunts, have long been a mystery. The conventional "wisdom" (really someone's guess) reported in numerous genealogical compilations has been that he was the son of John and Mary (Webster) Hunt, Mary said to have been the daughter of CT Colony Governor John Webster. Lucius Boltwood in his Genealogy of Hadley Families first published in 1862 with Sylvester Judd's History of Hadley (with several reprints, latest in 1979) discusses the family of John Webster and mentions (page 150) "a daughter, name unknown, who m. Jonathan Hunt of Northampton." This indicates only an insight at that time that Gov. Webster had a daughter related to Jonathan Hunt, but her name was not known; and she was not the wife of Jonathan Hunt, but his mother. The truth began to emerge about fifteen years ago when Mrs. David Hunt of West Simsbury, CT, made a personal search of the Paris Register of Cossington, Leicestershire, England, which revealed the m. of John Webster to Agnes Smith 7 Nov 1609, the birth of a dau Margaret who was bapt 21 Feb 1611/12, and her m. to Thomas Hunt 5 June 1632; and it is known that John Webster in Hartford sent a letter by courier to his daughter in Leicester, Eng, in 1644. The assumptions have been that Thomas and Margaret died in England sometime after1644 and their children Jonathan and Mary were brought to Hartford, CT, to live with their grandfather Webster. No details on that had been found (until now, and some pieces are still missing). There still remained the statements in print that Jonathan Hunt was b. in 1637 at Sudborrowe, Thrapstone, Northamptonshire, albeit no evidence for such was given. We can now be grateful to Mrs. Kathi Sittner of Salt Lake City, UT a descendant of Jonathan Hunt's son Thomas, the pioneer at Lebanon, CT. Working with copies of English records at the LDS library , Salt Lake City, Mrs. Sittner found records of Hunts at Sudborrowe, Northamptonshire, England, but nothing that connected with subject Jonathan Hunt. She then turned her efforts to Leicester records and there found the long-sought documentation in the Parish Records of St. Nicholas, Leicester. The baptism of Jonathan Hunt, son of Thomas and Margaret Hunt, 4 Jun 1637 is found (585, 275) along with five siblings of which only sister Mary ( and Jonathan) long outlived their parents. The father Thomas, baker of Leicester, (and son and grandson of other Thomas Hunts, bakers of Leicester) died (buried) 3 Aug 1642, and the mother Margaret died (buried prob. 19 June 1656), after which the orphaned children Jonathan and Mary Hunt apparently were brought to Hartford, CT, to live with their grandfather Webster and removed with the Websters to Hadley in the migration from Hartford-Windsor area up-river to Hadley and Northampton area. The following is a detailed genealogical record of the ancestors of Jonathan Hunt of Northampton, MA, and their families. THOMAS-C HUNT, b. abt 1540, baker (Pistor) of Leicester, Eng, m. 16 Oct 1559 at St.Nicholas Parish Alice Pollack(Pollard), died (buried) at St. Nicholas 4 Dec. 1606. Had children: i. 3. Sandy et all Check the archive. I believe these Hunt families are in the Michigan Biography. I posted some data I found in it to the list back in April 2001. You wrote back correcting the information on John Hunt and Mary Webster but did not comment on the other Hunt's in the biography. I gleaned the data from " Michigan A Centennial History Of The State And Its People" , published by The Lewis Publishing Company, Chicago , 1939. (Which by the way, is on microfilm at the Michigan State Library ). The book does not give much information on the New York lineage. Only states that Major James Stone Hunt was a great great grandson of Colonel Thomas Hunt. Sharon Burgess Chesaning Michigan

    3. I know personally of a branch of Hunts that had been in Oklahoma City until 10-15 years ago. The individual is a retired Fire Chief who has moved to Sallisaw, OK, who is a descendant of the Hunts from the Hunt, AR line of Mose Hulm Hunt, my great great grandfather. I have tried to get more information without success but will pass it on as I can find more. As I understand it, the family is the offspring of one of Mose's sons who abandoned his wife and children for another woman. He became an outcast and the wife and kids left the area later. 3. Don, According to the 1870 Fed. Census, there were 35 families named Hunt living in Oakland Co., MI. I would guess that one of them is the family of your Edward D. The 1870 MI census is on-line, but you have to pull up each individual census page on PDF format, which takes a while. So, if you want to invest the time, go to http://envoy.libofmich.lib.mi.us/1870_census/Search.asp and enter Hunt in the surname blank, and choose Oakland for the county, and you should have 4 pages of Hunts from which to choose. Click on the census page of each family and you can view the actual census document. Let us know how successful you were. BTW, I can't believe that the Hunt that Sandy found on SSDI is your Edward, as this one was b. in 1892 and you indicated that yours was marr. in 1889. Good luck. Elwyn D. He married Achsah Parrish 13 March 1889 at Hartland, Livingston county, MI. They divorced in Michigan sometime between 1910 to 1920. It is thought that Edward D.
