Often we don't go to ground to see whats new on our site. Here is a NEW resource. One of the best in the country.for everyone not just HUNTs. Sandy Lubbock *************************************************** Connie Hunt, Ph.D, DAC, Puyallup Tribal Member <[email protected]> BIOGRAPHY I'm relatively well versed in all of the 557 Federally Recognized Tribes (with a few pending) and some of those that are only recognized by States or that are now considered no longer in existence. I am knowledgeable in traditional marital patterns and behaviors, language groups, cultural practices, as well as historical adaptations to the dominant population. I work in the tribal communities every day and am acquainted with enrollment, benefits, and restricted access to Indian files. LINEAGE My current genealogical research is focused on the Descendents of Col. Jonathan Hunt. I am a descendent of his son Charles. The Hunt's in my family came to Oregon via wagon in 1850 (according to documentation). Eventually, a Hunt married a Puyallup Indian, and I am one of the resulting children. I am doing genealogical research in Oregon where I was born and currently reside. I am a member of the Oregon Historical Society (where apparently I have been doing research the hard way). I have lived in South America, Africa, Canada, and the US. I have traveled in Europe and Australia. I hope that I can be helpful in your inquiries surrounding your American Indian ancestors. This appeared in a posting to the NYBROOKLYN list at rootsweb.com today. I thought it might be of interest to someone on the list. Teri Tillman Brooklyn Standard Union Nov 30,1906 Greenpoint Wedding MISS LULU HILLEBRAND WEDS JAMES J.HUNT A very pretty wedding was solemnized early Wednesday evening in St.Anthony Church, when Miss Lulu HILLEBRAND, daughter of Mrs.S.HILLEBRAND,was united in marriage to James J.HUNT. What lent a particularly impressive air to the occasion was the fact that both of the interested parties are leading lights in Greenpoint social set,and the number of invitations issued showed the multitude of friends that the young couple had. The ceremony was preformed by the Rev.Monsignor O'HARE. Miss Florence DOYLE acted as maid of honor, and the duties of bestman fell upon Charles YOUNGER. The bride was dressed in a gown of pure white silk, trimmed with foreign lace, and she carried a shower bouquet of white roses. Immediately following the ceremony an adjournment was made to the home of the bride, where a wedding supper was held, and telegrams of congratulations from many out-of-town friends poured in throughout the evening. A wedding trip through the Southern States will be taken. The couple intends returning in a month to take up their home in Greenpoint, where Mr.HUNT is engaged in business. transcribe by;powife
