    2. Bill & Chris Schreiber
    3. My maternal grandfather was William Edwin Hunt,Sr, born in 1866 in California, probably San Francisco, and died in Oregon in Oct, 1938. He was the son of GEORGE E. P. HUNT of San Francisco who married Nancy Brown, his mother. George was a ship or boat builder, and possibly a boat captain on the San Fran to Sacramento run. He later abandoned and divorced Nancy. He was not highly regarded by the rest of the family for his leaving his wife and son. I believe that there was also a daughter born as well. I know nothing beyond this other than a photograph or two of George. Supposedly this bunch of Hunts originally came to the US from Wales. I would appreciate hearing from any list member who may have knowledge of George E.P. Hunt. Thanks. W. Schreiber

    3. I posted this message the other day. "Does anyone recognize the name Ora HUNT? I have a picture of her in family photo albums. My wife remembers her and her husband, Jeff DALTON, but no other information." I did some more research and the picture was taken in California about 1958. It is hard to determine age on old photos but the most popular guess is that she was in her mid 40's. I hope this helps. 3. Hello Sharyl In the Genalogical and Family History of the County of Jefferson, New York, compiled by R. A. Oakes, The Lewis Publishing Company, 1905, appears a family history of Theodore Lansing Hunt, including his Civil War service and marriage Feb. 8 1869 to Miss Gertrude L. Loftus, who was b Mar 17 1846, in County Galway, Ireland, a daughter of Peter and Margaret Loftus. Children are as listed: Harriet Mary m Edward Gaubrue of Watertown; Lillian E. m Will Warren, resides in Utica; Margaret E. m. Clark C. Gerow, resides in Belleville, Canada; Florence K., teacher; Gertrude C., a stenographer in Watertown. Theodore L. is now a student at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn. This was a contemporary account of Theodore Lansing Hunt, and no other wives are mentioned. The Theodore L. listed among the other children is presumed to be a son, but is not specifically identified as such. The article does state that Theodore Lansing Hunt had resided in Watertown since leaving the army. 3. I am looking for information on the William and Harriet (Morehouse) HUNT family that lived the area of Valparaiso, Porter Co., IN at the time of their daughter's birth (Phebe Jeanette HUNT) in December 1851. Phebe lists "Valproso, Indiana" as her place of birth when she filled out a Widow's pension application. By 1867 the family had moved on to the state of Wisconsin where Phebe was married. I do not find the family in the Indiana 1850 census under the name of William HUNT. Various later censuses indicate that her father, William HUNT, was b. MD, OH, or IN and her mother, Harriet MOREHOUSE, was b. OH or IN. I do not have dates on either William or Harriet, with an estimate that they were probably b.1801-1836 which would mean that Phebe was likely born between their 16th and 50th birthdays. I would appreciate any help you are able to offer. I have descendant information to share.
