Hi The route that I took to contact my cousin in Hungary was to write to City Hall of the village where my cousin was born. Within a month I was contacted by City Hall with her address and phone number. We are first cousins and are only children, and she is the only cousin that I have on my father's side of the family. She had a picture of me when I was l year old and my parents wedding picture hanging in her living room, (through a family fall out no contact was made since l957) You can imagine the emotion that was felt when I first called her. Within 9 months I made to trip to visit her, and since she lives in a small village the whole village knew of my visit. They threw me a party that was more like a wedding. I will treasure this visit forever. We are now in contact weekly by telephone. Another route that I was going to take was to place an ad in the local paper of the village where my cousin was born.
