In 1874 he purchased a fruit farm on the Middle Road, East Davenport, which was his special pride, the old man bringing it to such a degree of perfection that its products were considered to be the finest in the market. He lived on it up to the time of his death, which was caused by stomach trouble from which he was a sufferer for the past five years. About a year ago he grew worse but until the past few days it was not thought that there was any immediate danger of death. He is survived by his wife and six children. Survivors: Wife: ?
