I am researching my ancestors who lived in Ganna, Veszprem County, Hungary. Vital records were recorded in churches up to 1895 and then they were recorded by civil authorities after that year. I have film showing the church records but cannot locate where the civil records were recorded. Can someone tell me where these records are located so I can continue my research? Thanks Ted tex7barb@msn.com<mailto:tex7barb@msn.com>
Ted, I do not know where the civil records are recorded or if they have been filmed but I have recently found out that records exist pre dating those that have been filmed. I have an honest and true third cousin living in Veszprem, Megye that has been able to access the old books some of which have records back to the early 1700's. Property records also exist as well as old Census records. Having had this cousin find me through information I put out onto the net has been a tremendous blessing as every day he sends me new information and lately he has visited the cemeteries and taken picture of old family tombstones. I am not talking from just one village but from several. Moral of the story....put your information on the net...through one of the genealogy programs...you never know who will contact you. I was also blessed with a cousin from a German line finding me and helping me go back a few centuries. Elizabeth V. Cardinal evc1369@comcast.net
