Hi Joseph, Thank you very much for the info on the Fuzi name. I had purchased a Family Name History from the Historical Research Center in 1992 as a gift for my father. It had been so long since I read it I didn't know what it said, so I borrowed it today. It said what you had previously told me of the word "Fuz." This is what they had to say: "In Some instances, a habitation name refers to a residence which was distinguished by a sign or engraving usually displayed over the door. In this particular instance, the name Fuzi derives from the old Magyar term "Fuz" (osier, willow), together with the characteristic Hungarian suffix element "....i", and here refers to one whose house was located near to the local willow grove. (Source Ref. Siebmacher) I guess this still does not help me in tracing the origin of the name unless someone knows of an area in Hungary or the previous Austo-Hungary Empire that was famous for it's will tree's or groves.....I should mention that my forefather's were shepards - juhasz, wandering amist the Esterhazy estate and who knows where else!
