    1. Re: Correction to listing NARA immigration records
    2. FYI -- I recently sent my G-639 Freedom of Information Act form in to my local office in Atlanta to get the naturalization records for some members of my family. The Atlanta office didn't forward it, they sent it back to me with a notice, I'm not sure if this applies to the whole country or just the Atlanta office, but the notice says: PUBLIC NOTICE TO ALL: Effective April 25, 2005, all FOIA/PA requests should be mailed directly to: National Records Center - FOIA Unit Post Office Box 648010 Lee's Summit, MO 64064-8010 For overnight express "only", use the following address: National Records Center - FOIA Unit ATTN: Suite 300 150 Space Center Loop Lee's Summit, MO 64064 The public number for NRC FOIA/PA requesters is (816)350-5570 to ask questions and obtain information. Since it would have cost the same in postage, I wondered why they didn't just forward it for me. Anyway, in about a week or 2 I received an acknowledgement letter from the Lee's Summit office that they received my request, and since it was brief, they would put it on the fast track. I called the phone number to ask a question, and the phone was answered by a friendly, helpful human almost immediately. - Elaine On Mon, 11 Jul 2005 18:32:02 -0400, "Scott & Tina Southwick" <southwick@voyager.net> said: > Immigration Records - Sorry all!
