Hello to all, I am working on my husbands family. According to the 1900 Oregon census, they came over in 1881. Mathias Trukositz b. 31 Aug 1856 in Hungary Anna (maiden name Weiss) Trukositz b. 10 Jul 1852 in Hungary sons- Frank b. Nov 1879 -Joseph b. Feb 1881 I believe that Mathius's parents were Jacob Trukositz and Eva Kiegler. I was sent a picture of the Roman Catholic Church in Lebany where Mathius probably was baptized and attended. Maybe even got married. I haven't been able to find any immigration information for them. How would I get records from that church and find out when and from where they immigrated? Would like to find marriage records and birth records for them also. Any help would be great. We live in Sweet Home, Linn County,Oregon. If I can lookup something in Linn or Marion counties,please ask. Thanks Helen Trukositz

Dear Helen, Although Mathias himself was not listed in One World Tree, a Stephen Trukosits, born 1849, was listed as a son of Jakob Trukositz and Eva Kiegler, born Lébény, Moson megye, Hungary, married "Anges" (probably Agnes) Kroneis, and died Westlake, Idaho, in 1933. His son, Steven, was born 1874 in Lebeny, married Theresa Natz 1904 in Howard SD, and died 1947 in Lewiston, Idaho. It looks like Mathias and Stephen were brothers. Their Hungarian names would have been Matyas and István. I couldn't find their immigration records either, but LDS has the Roman Catholic church records (births, marriages, and deaths to 1895) for Lebeny, Hungary, where you should be able to find all of these Trukositzes. Go to the Family History Library Catalog at www.familysearch.org <http://www.familysearch.org/> and enter Lebeny under Place Search to find the microfilm numbers. Lébény is now in Győr-Moson-Sopron megye, between Győr and Vienna, but only about 10 miles west of Győr.
