I am trying to find out more information about the province of Csanad. I know that it doesn't exist today. My grandfather's name was Jozsef Csanadi and someone told my cousin that his family would have been originally from Csanad. I don't know if it is true and wondered if anyone else knows about it. The problem is there were half a dozen towns/villages named ...Csanád... Besides, you are going back to 15th-16th Century when most folks did not have a surname. The "likelihood" of tracing back the name that far is slim, though nowadays people explain certain surnames with a place origin. Joe Equinunk, PA - USA jjarfas@ezaccess.net
