Very interesting, Elizabeth ... thanks! And how can I forget St. Vitus' Dance? I haven't heard that in years!! Still curious about Vida and like you say, it's probably Vitus in Hungarian. I just realized, I also have the surname Vida in my family database. Joseph Vida (born 1889 in Fer. Nagy Kikinda, Hungary) married my mother's maternal 1st cousin. I don't know where in Hungary Fer. Nagy Kikinda is located. My mother's maternal side was all from Nagy Kapos (now Slovakia). ----- Original Message ----- From: "Elizabeth V Cardinal" <evc1369@comcast.net> To: <HUNGARY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 27, 2006 8:00 AM Subject: RE: [HUNGARY-L] Re: Hungarian first names website > <<Also his grandson's middle name is Vitus ... another mystery. > Thanks!>> > > There is a St.Vitus. http://www.catholic-forum.com/saintS/saintv07.htm > > I would think Vida is Vitus. > > Elizabeth V.
