Hi all, just received word that some researchers in Germany are publishing (or attempting to publish) "Ortssippenbücher" about certain places in Hungary, but due to the huge amount of information and high printing costs some of them they could not, which included Soroksár. Their present attempt is about Dunaharaszti/Taksony 1696-1828, which has to get started by the end of this month to be able to make it. Here is the relevant information: "We started to print a new book from Dunaharszti/Taksony 1696-1828, app. 1000 pages, DIN A4, 60 EURO plus s. + h., but we need 250 orders in advanced, it ended at 1828, if we go to 1895, we have 4 books and 200 EURO, nobody will pay that price, so only one book and this offer ends at end of october 2005. Not enough orders no book. This book included 3 register birth, death, marriage also in german and it shows you most settlers and where they come from and two generations later the people who went to Batschka, Banat and other villages in Hungary. Also inside the first 20 years of Soroksár, there was only the church in Dunaharaszti. This book is offered (advertised) in a few news papers and to genealogical societies who got our journal. So the people have time to end of october to order after that this book go the same way like Soroksár. Today we have 20 orders (wow so much) so I am sure that we not print this book; bad luck for the people but the moment is now, no more discussion about that in the future." But they did manage to print church records about Vecsés: "Vecsés is (was) printed last year and from 350 books are 300 saled (sold), Vecsés included 3 register Birth, Death, Marriage, 1034 pages DIN A4 (290x210 mm), weight 2,5 Kilo (5.5 lb), price 60 EURO plus s.+ h.. Vecsés started 1786-1895, this village is a secondary village , that means that the people come from other villages around Budapest, no new settlers. They came from Soroksár, Dunaharaszti, Taksony, Ujhartyan etc. and from places on the Buda side like Pilisvörösvar, Budajenö, Nagykovacsi and from the Csepel Island." If anybody interested in ordering any of the above, let me know and I will supply name and address. Joe Equinunk, PA - USA jjarfas@ezaccess.net --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses by ezaccess.net]
