Hello, everyone. It was a pleasure to see Hungarian written on this list (yes, I am memorizing the phrases you shared). I am frantically trying to learn this arcane, but wonderful language--no, like so many other immigrants to this country my mother who was born of Hungarian parents didn't teach me. In January I will be going to Hungary to stay for four months. I will be teaching at the University in Pecs. Although I will be teaching in English, knowing Hungarian would be so helpful. This list means much to me. I have learned where to find maps of Hungary, where to find information about Hungarian customs and history, where to find information about my grandparents and great grandparents; some of you have shared your travel experiences with us, too, and now you all are sharing a bit of Hungarian to those of us who wish we knew the language. Thank you all for your generosity. This is a precious list. Merry Christmas (boldog karacsonyi--did I get it right?!?) Carol Thompson
