Hello, I just joined the list and I would like to say hello to everyone! I would also like to thank all the posters because I have learned so much just from reading the archives. I have been looking at microfilm records at the LDS library. My grandfather was born in Tiszakanyar Hungary and is listed in the Kanyar ( Tiszakanyar) mother book as are many other relatives. I am trying to translate one of the first pages in the book when the reformed church first started in 1772. I can make out most of the words on the page but there are a few I cannot figure out. I have listed the link to the graphic below. I found that it is best to first save the file to your hard drive and then view it for more control over magnification. The first word I am having trouble with is the first word on the second line " Consarbaltuk? ". Is it a mixture of latin and hungarian? The second is the first word in the third line " minemai ? " . Mai is today but what is minemai? The last is the fifth and sixth word in the third line " Nö Rfaöta " ? Maybe someone with a better knowlege of Hungaran can infer what these words are from the context of the paragraph. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Here is the link to the file: http://www.streamload.com/wahada/kmbp3.bmp Thanks in advance Bill -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Deciphered only the first paragraph and this is what I read: Anno D. 772 die 23 January. Konszuláltuk együtt a Kanyári lakósokkal minémü joszága legyen a Kis Rfmátus Kanyári Sz. Ekklésiának Ur Asztalához való Abroszai kendöi pohara, tányéra, és az Ekklésia számára hány darab szántó földek, és kaszállók vagynak mellyeknek rendi úgy vagyond.
