    1. [HUNGARY] Breaking down BRICK-WALLS
    2. marys1015
    3. Recently I was able to break down two brick walls by finding the full obituaries of wives of two of my cousins. One cousin (a HASAK) died 1966 in California -- his wife died in 2008; the other cousin (a NAGY) died 1997 in Ohio, his wife died in 1998. I found their wives' obituaries on the site genealogybank.com. This site gave information on her parents, their children and grandchildren names. Prior to finding the wives' obituaries, I only had the social security death index information on my cousins. I had contacted the local library in the counties listed in the SSDI for the obituary for my cousins, but they couldn't find any published obituaries. Some of the newspaper obituaries offered by genealogybank.com are not very helpful ... they list only the name, date of death, and name of newspaper that published the obituary. It seems you will have to contact that newspaper and probably pay the newspaper listed for additional information. Before doing that, search that newspaper archives on line and see if you can find the full obituary. The yearly cost is $69.95, but I recommend the less costly one month subscription. The one month subscription gives you enough time to search by: surname town of birth town of death cemetery etc. The URL is: http://genealogybank.com Mary Nagy
