He is in his 93rd. year. The aged warrier owns the decorations of the Legion of Honor and the Order of the Golden Fleece, which he has received for bravery on the battlefield. He bears many scars of saber cuts and bullet wounds, inflicted when he was a warrier. Count ROZSAS was born in 1819 in Methoe-Hetzeaz ? Hungary. His title was a hereditary one, and the family was one of the oldest in the Kingdom. He studied medicine and surgery in the University of Munich, from which he graduated in 1847. When the Hungarian revolution of 1848 broke out he went with the patriots and served through the revolution, attaining the rank of colonel. For many years he has been attempting to regain his family estates, which have reverted to the government since his exile, he never having returned to his nation? and to claim them. In the Crimean war he was commander of a brigade of ??? under General BOSQUET in the French Army, and received the title of Commander of the Legion of Honor. After the Crimean war he became a soldier of fortune in several campaigns, in various parts of the world and served with the Legion of France in Africa. He came to America at the beginning of the Civil War and entered the Army of the Confederacy. He became Brigadier-General under Stonewall Jackson and was personally commended for bravery by General Lee. Count ROZSAS came to the Pacific coast in the later 60's. In 1876 he was a member of the board of examiners for the port of San Francisco. For a number of years he practiced medicine until infirmities of age compelled his retirement. He made his home in Oakland for the last 15 years. Possessed of a splendid education, the Count spoke 13 different languages in addition to his native tongue.
