    3.   I can give it a whirl [email protected]   Magda  but I am guessing from what you typed LUTHERAN .......( Lutherious )  the name TOTH ( for Tooth ) ......He may have been a Babicsak and the name TOTH was his alias name like as in adoption , or to distinguish from other Babicsaks in the village or something like this tradition - Read  from :     http://www.iarelative.com/slovinky.htm Regarding the question of an alias or a double surname one finds in the church records: This quote from "In search of your European roots" by Angus Baxter At times, the surname of the wife would be added to the surname of the husband if there were no descendents on the wife's side to carry on her family surname. A friend of mine who is a Byzantine Catholic priest told this to me while I was doing some research. >I was reading my ancestors death record in the Mehtelek Szatmar m >Reformed Church records and I am >wonder what it all means. >His name was Babicsak Janos and he died 6 November 1816. >What I can make out it reads: >Lutharous Tooth Babicsak Janos,  he was 60 when he died.  Is there anyone I can e-mail this sheet to so they can read it for me? >I would greatly appreciate it. >Margaret Babicsak Loroff --- On Mon, 12/8/08, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote: From: [email protected] <[email protected]> Subject: HUNGARY Digest, Vol 3, Issue 364 To: [email protected] Date: Monday, December 8, 2008, 3:00 AM Today's Topics: 1. We will be there for 10 days, from May 5-May15, 2009. As of now we will begin by staying in Budapest for 4 days & 3 nights & then rent a auto & visit the 2 villages of my grandparents (Turna nad Bodvou, Slovakia & Gavavencsello in Szabolcs Megye, Hungary) Does anyone know of some good hotels to stay in Budapest? We would like something close to the places to visit in the center of town as my wife has very bad rheumatoid arthritis and can't walk for long periods of time. We are looking for something reasonable in price but nice. Also what are some of the key things to see & visit in Budapest? I have a travel guide but I'd like to hear from some of you, my Hungarian internet family.
