Maria, you went too far afield to look in Bakonyszentlászló for Csesznek records! :-) The nearest place to Csesznek was Magyarszentmihály, alas LDS does not show records from there. Next in line would be Bakonyoszlop - or just Oszlop - where there are R. C. church records shown. Bakonyszentkirály is also close (actually next to Magyarszentkirály) but there are only Reformed church records there. So my thought was to try and find the marriage record for my great great grandparents (mid 1800s) in the hope that it mentions their parents. I haven't been able to find anything in the marriage records for Borzavar. So then I tried to work out where the bride was from, thinking they may have married in her village. I looked at the 1828 Census index for Veszprem and found only one mention of NYERE, being in Csesznek. Interestingly, the marriage record for their son, my great grandfather, had him living in Csesznek at the time so perhaps a family link to the village... I looked at the film for Bakonyszentlaszlo which I hope I worked out correctly to be the film that covered Csesznek but still no success. > >Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can try next? Gee, Joe - Since you speak/read/write Hungarian, you should be volunteering for FamilySearch Indexing program. They are really moving ahead with all the volunteers. Well, Bette, just last night glanced at their 'recruiting' site. Am trying to negotiate with the Good "Person" Above for a double life time! ;-) No response yet ...
