I have not found my greatgrandfather's name anywhere at Ellis Island and he cam over before his family. Is there an easy way to find info on immigrants coming through Philadelphia or other eastern seaboard ports? Thanks, Jay Farrell

Depending on the time period, did you check Castle Garden in NY? It was the forerunner of Ellis Island. I found my Swiss coming in 1825 on that list. Just a thought.
