Hey everyone, Does anyone have any information about a town named Hernadvecse? Where can I get records for my relatives that are from there? Thanks, Darlene
Hi Darlene, if you are looking for church records LDS has them: Reformed church record copies, 1790-1895, film # 632576. They also have copies of civil records: 1985-1908 on two rolls: 2289223-4. Visit their nearest Family History Center where you can order the films: http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp Google can also give you a lot of information about Hernádvécse. Darlene, Some of my ancestors and relatives came from Hernadvecse in Abauj megye (names include Gabanyicz, Balint, S(z)itar, Simko. The village was originally two separate villages--Also-czecze (or Also-cece) and Felso-czecze (or Felso-cece). As Joe points out, Reformed and civil records for the village are available from the LDS. Roman Catholic and Greek Catholic villagers attended the churches in Boldogkovaralja, and their records can be found in the registers there, which have also been microfilmed by the LDS.
