Hi Sharon, haven't seen any reply to this query of yours; just made it back from Hungary and while I am 'cleaning' up my inbox I noticed it. Of course there could have been any number of reasons why they married there! :-) A baby might have been on the way!? But more likely one had a better to do relative there, who could house (and maybe foot the bill for) the wedding, which used to be a big deal in those days. Neither Daniel Bako nor Rozalia Grofcsik were found in either of the two towns. No birth records were found in Nagyhalasz for them. Rozalia was Catholic and Daniel was not. Trying to get into their mindset, so far has gotten me nowhere. Any ideas, List? >Sharon >
