Hi Everyone, I'm curious if anyone knows what the ending -csik means on some surnames. Lately I've come across names like Szabócsik, that have the obvious Hungarian name Szabó with the -csik suffix. Is the -csik suffix a Slovakian form of 'son of'.. like the Hungarian version of 'son' or 'son of', which are -fi, -fy, -ffi and -ffy. There's also the variation -tsik. Anyone have any ideas? Nick M.
