    1. [HUNGARY] Unofficial Anthem of Hungarians (Magyars) in Transylvania
    2. Timothy Kotsay
    3. A Hungarian friend is from the Transylvania part of Hungary. I sent him Les Josa's email regarding the Hungarian anthem. They loved it too. And his wife sent me the Hungarian and English words to it. I hope you enjoy knowing the words in English. I never saw or heard this one before; as you said, it is an unofficial anthem. On YouTube it's called "Magyarok Világ himnusza", which means "Hungarian's World anthem".. You are right; the music and whole production is very nice. See below the original and translated text. I will send you the real Hungarian National Anthem. See you in church. Marta MAGYAR VILÁG HIMNUSZ (From YOU TUBE) Halló magyar. Hol vagy, felelj. Halló magyar, hallasz, felelj. Bármerre vitt a sors, hív az ősi Föld. Zászlója még ma is; Piros Fehér Zöld! Halló magyar. Kárpát, felelj. Halló magyar. Erdély, felelj. Bármerre vitt a sors, hív az ősi Föld. Szívedben megmaradsz; Piros Fehér Zöld! De messze van, Amerika. Szegény magyar, hol van haza. Bármerre vitt a sors, hív az ősi Föld. Véredben megmaradsz; Piros Fehér Zöld! Bármerre vitt a sors, hív az ősi Föld. Sírodig megmaradsz; Piros Fehér Zöld! English translation (pretty verbatim) Hello Hungarian. Where are you, answer. Hello, Hungarian, do you hear me, answer. Where ever fate took you, the ancient land calls. Its flag, even today, is Red White Green! Hello Hungarian. Carpathians, answer. Hello Hungarian. Transylvania, answer. Where ever fate took you, the ancient land calls. In your heart you remain Red White Green. How far away is America; Poor Hungarian, where is your home. Where ever fate took you, the ancient land calls. In your blood you remain Red White Green. Where ever fate took you, the ancient land calls. Until your grave you remain Red White Green. . _____ From: Timothy Kotsay [mailto:mtkotsay@comcast.net] Sent: Thursday, September 23, 2010 9:21 AM To: mgraffy@comcast.net Cc: Timothy Kotsay Subject: Unofficial Anthem of Hungarians (Magyars) in Transylvania I received this very moving video from Hungarian Roots.com this morning and I thought of you. It is the unofficial anthem of Hungarians (Magyars) in Transylvania which is in Romania. Love the music, only wish I understood the lyrics.
