Both languages come from central Asia. Hungarian has imported a few foreign words over many years, mainly Slavic ones like 'utca' for 'street' which is 'ulitza' in Russian. Romanian, on the other hand, is a Latin derivative and sounds a bit like Pidgen Italian and nothing whatever like Hungarian. Irv Schlinger
