    1. [HUNGARY] Happy Thanksgiving
    2. Gerald Kisabeth
    3. Happy Thanksgiving & I want to be the first to thank all my dear friends on the GREAT website. So many of you have helped me so much during the last 5 years. Thanks Joe J, Joe M., Geza, Gabor, Janet and some many others. I appreciate all your help and read our website religiously. Oh! by the way, I have another request. My old direct ancestor was Veronica Gabron from Smolnik (Old Hungary=Szomolnok) born about 1790, died 1870 in Turna nad Bodvou (Torna). I have searched the church records for the village of Szomolnok (Smolnik) but cannot find her nor the surname Gabron or some variants. If anyone has access to the 1828 German-Hungarian Census book of Szepes megye could your please look up the surname GABRON and tell me what village is listed. I read on World Vital Records.Com that there is a Gabron in the 1828 Szepes book. Again, Happy Thanksgiving!!! Gerald (Dobozy) Kisabeth

    3. Hi Darlene, if you are looking for church records LDS has them: Reformed church record copies, 1790-1895, film # 632576. They also have copies of civil records: 1985-1908 on two rolls: 2289223-4. Visit their nearest Family History Center where you can order the films: http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp Google can also give you a lot of information about Hernádvécse. 3. The LDS (Mormons, Family History Center) will sell microfilm copies only to university libraries (and maybe to certain larger city libraries) upon request from the library staff. Not only Church records, but Jewish records, civil records, censuses, and more are available; all the microfilms that LDS filmed, they gave copies of them to each country's National Archives. However, as an individual, you can purchase any of those films from the Hungarian National Archives. The cost was about $17.00 for a full reel ten years ago. I faxed my order to the Archives and then wired the money directly from my bank to the National Archives' bank. The mailing service was prompt and professional. For details on ordering, contact <[email protected]>, per Joseph Jarfas' email. Maureen Tighe-Brown

    3. We did not reach the 'prime' time of computer translators yet, Gerald, especially with the magyar language! :-) I cranked in your text also and could only understand because I can read the original! ;-) They say: Dear Jerry and Pam. Waiting long time for your answer. We would like you to write about your grandchild. We did not forget that we will meet in May; we already told a relative in Vencsellő about it. The translation wasn't too bad, we got the meaning of what you wrote so you can write like this in the future. We are all right; we got our first snowfall.
