I am searching for any information on Harrison W Huling b 1806, son of William and Rebecca VanDyke Huling. They came from New Jersey to Wisconsin to Iowa. Harrison had several brothers: Samuel b abt 1811; Joseph; R Collom b 1808; and William. Eventually, they moved on to Humboldt County, California and died there. However, Harrison, who married my GGG Grandmother, Lorinda Edwards Pate Huling, in Jackson County, IA, removed to California supposedly to search for gold after her death in 1862 abandoning their seven children. A note in my genealogy from Janice Slack states, "An Aunt of Ester Littlefor Woodworth-Barns, (author of Huling Genealogy) told her that Harrison Huling went to California after wife's death and died there." Can you give me any information regarding Harrison or the family? I have been searching a long...long time. Thanks for your reply. I just did a lookup for Harrison W. Huling, William Huling, VanDyke, R. Collom, and Pate. None of them were listed in the index of Esther's book....possibly they're in the Addenda but I didn't look there.
