There evidently was no such French nobleman. The story started when some members of the Huling family were trying to improve their social status and a genealogist helped devleop the story. Dr. Peter S. Craig had written about the falsehood. You might want to see Dianne Zimmerman's book which is on the PA Hulings line. She does have the false story in it as she died in a car accident before being able to finish her second edition of the book.
