It appears that Harvey Graber, Huling, and Howard Mannington were the principals. It was formed in late 1914 to compete for the 1915-1919 US stamped envelope contract. Before the contract began the company was purchased by the Mercantile Corp which had the 1907-1911 and 1911-1915 US stamped envelope contracts. The company kept the name Middle West Supply Co. so it could still have the 1915-1919 contract. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: aeignacio Surnames: SPINK, HULING Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.huling/165/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Elizabeth, supposedly the daughter of Robert2 Spink married Alexander Huling and was the mother of his 10 children. Online references say she was born about 1673, married Alexander Huling before July 2, 1728. Their children were born between 1729 and 1749. Since she would have been too old to have been the mother of these children, if this birthdate for her is correct, as well as being at least 25 years older than her husband Alexander Huling, this raises a question about all the sources that give her parents as Robert2 Spink and an unknown mother. I would appreciate any help in unraveling this mystery of an apparently missing Spink generation. Thanks, Ann Ignacio Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The "Huling Gen..." book has a Cyrus, son of Nathan Lane Huling, son of Alexander. Alexander (1776-1828), spouse of Lydia LANE (1778-1829). Nathan (1803-1856) spouse of (1) Eliza WYCKOFF & Senate (?BROUSE) SEVENS. Cyrus was born 10 Aug 1841 in Big Spring, Seneca Co, Ohio; m. (1) Rose Marguerite HACKE then to Velma OHNECK. This info is from obits and biographies. So I guess this is the same Cyrus and the 1851 birth date an error. His children were Mary Wyckoff, Frank Cyrus & Helen. I would very much like to "talk" to someone with info on this branch as I'm collecting info for addenda 4 to the book. <dhuling [at] verizon [dot] net>

He was born in 1851 in Seneca County. It looks to me that he was the youngest in his family. He was orphaned at about 5 or 6. The time of his growing up is kind of vague. I do know he graduated from Ohio Wesleyan. He became a lawyer. He built a hotel here in Columbus(called the Seneca Hotel) and raised a son and two daughters. He was prosecuting attorney for Franklin County and was involved in businesses in Columbus. He work with my grandfather Frank C. (also an attorney) on many of his business interests. After his wife Rose Hack died he moved to California and remarried to a women named Velma. He was about 80. He died there. He had property there including a ranch call the Smoke Tree Ranch which now is Palm Springs. I would love to see your pictures. We know very little about his family in Seneca county. He was a fascinating man. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
