Do you have info on any of the other chidren of Andrew, like his daughter Alvia? I have that his wife Martha died in Wilkes County in 1856, is this correct? If Salt Lake has it then I did look at it a few years ago. But I wasn't sure at that time how the Harris Co Hulings fit in with the TN line I was following. I have questions for you about Marcus A's children: Arannag J. Huling born in Ala about 1847/48...didn't marry? Lived with siblings ? I had that she died in 1870 but find her or someone with name of Anna and same birthdate living with both Robert T and Martha Smith in 1900 census so she must have been shipped around...if this is the right person. Two sisters that I only have names and no other info: Mary E born in 1846/47 in Ala and Sally R born in Harris Co in 1857. Census: Mary is living with parents in 1860 but not after that. I will double check dates/names tomorrow. But Margaret Jones/Marcus Hulings of Amityville had a son John who married a Sarah Bacon. They had Marcus's farm in Amityville for some years and sold it. They moved to Woolwich Twp. Gloucester, New Jersey and had a number of children including a Samuel Hulings and William Hulings. William married Abigail Albertson. He was in the Revolution and about 1810, after her death went to Clermont, Ohio. His daughter Keziah and her husband (David Harp) also went. William's son Abraham moved to Indiana, married a Nancy and had son Abraham who married Margarette or Margaret, Their son Abraham Lincoln Huling is born in Indiana and dies in Fitzgerald, Ben Hill County, Georgia (I can't find my source on this, but I know they live in Georgia long enough for at least two kids to be born there) And now I am confusing myself because one or two of this line move on to Arkansas where descendan! t Carl Huling now lives. (Lee County). Will look for sources and send them on to you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. She is listed as Elizabeth Hulin and is 76 years old. I had a death date, undocumented as 1842 but if she is in the 1850 census that is incorrect. I am not sure where she is in 1840 as I haven't found a 1840 census record for her. Have you done any work on Jonathan Huling, son of Andrew? I get lost on that one. I lost most of my Hulings material when FTM crashed a couple years back and my backups didn't work! So I just gave up for a while. But then luckily someone emailed a question and I got going again on this Virginia line which I find interesting. Then there is another Georgia line which is from William of N.J and so on. Like others, I am still trying to solve the mystery of Sarah Catlett's (?) maiden name and of course, Elizabeth's (James second wife) maiden name. Do you know hwo old Elizabeth was when she married James? I sometimes believe the reference to Catlett in Sarah Catlett may be where she was from because there is a Catlett, VA. All this discussion has re-energized my interests in genealogy. I hope you're doing well these days. I have been tracing all the descendants of his son Marcus Huling and his wife Margaret Jones. They had 8 children. I do not have a Comelia Huling for this line but that doesn't mean that she isn't there. Marcus Hulings aka. Lars Huling was married to a Swedish born woman, Brigitta Danielsson, daughter of Gustaf Danielsson and Anna Lom. They had three children: Laurence, Regina and Marcus. Your line is that of Marcus. He married Margaret Jones, daughter of Mounce Jones. They lived in Amityville, PA (now Douglasville, Berks County, PA). Of their 8 children, six married and had children. I descend from their son Marcus and your George W. Huling, descended from youngest son Andrew. Andrew, after death of his father, moved to Rockingham, Virginia. He served in the Revolution. He was married to Catherine Mounce. (aka Mansson). She was the daughter of Henrick Mounce. His son James is your line. James was married twice, (1)to Sarah Catlett (now researchers are showing this surname as incorrect but not giving another) who dies in VA before James moves to Wilkes County Georgia about 1799. He then married (2) Elizabeth, surname not found. Their son Samuel b. 1812, probably in Wilkes, dies before 1880 in Harris County. He was married to Elizabeth Clark. His son Jesse M was father of your George Sr. I have information of many of the descendants of Marcus/Margaret so if you are interested please let me know. I would hate for my information to just disappear if something happens to me. I can send an attachment to a email address. It is several hundred pages long so I can't type it here. Yes I got the file just fine. Am going to go over it and let you know the changes. I have the orphan court records of the other Reed family. Alexander was not the father. A James Reed, wife Mary unknown was father of James and John. Will also give you names of the rest of their children. Alexander may have been the father of James. Have to figure out ages to see if he matches. He may have also been a brother to James. Do not have birthdate of James either. Anyhow, thanks a lot. Will send info to you when I am through going over it.
